The Torres is ideal to take on all hill activities to provide fast warmth for winter climbers, walkers, campers, alpinists or Arctic explorers, skiers, Mountain Rescue, wildlife observers or outdoor photographers.

Such activities intersperse exertion with stationary interludes, for example eating lunch or belaying. To remain comfortable and safe, it is practical to add a synthetic overlayer quickly and easily on top of your waterproof.

The synthetic 133g fill offers insulation even in wet weather. The insulation extends to the hood and handwarming pockets. The jacket is sized to easily put on over existing kit.

The Torres Jacket is sized to fit over a waterproof, with a warm hood and useful pockets:

  • Styled for overlayering with the Nikwax Analogy® system to warm you quickly without removing layers. The scooped tail and adjustable hem help retain body heat.
  • Uninterrupted vision in all weathers from insulated and fully adjustable fixed hood with single-hand pull adjuster, which can be stowed when not in use.
  • Handwarming and storage from two large insulated and zipped outer pockets and an internal secure chest pocket.

Nikwax Analogy Insulator’s synthetic fill provides very effective warming even in wet conditions.

Nikwax Analogy Insulator FabricThe Insulator combines Nikwax Windproof closely woven microfibre outer with a synthetic, water-resistant fill to cut windchill and provide excellent insulation for overlayering with other Nikwax fabrics. It retains body heat very effectively to warm the body quickly and deflects the rain while providing excellent moisture vapour transfer. It packs down small, giving a high warmth to weight ratio. The fill gives a down-like feel and performance with the benefit of still working well when wet. It can be compressed in a pack without damage and washed in a home washing machine.

From Autumn 2017, all our synthetic fill features 55% recycled content.

Choose the Torres Jacket for its ability to provide practical and fast warmth even in the wet …

The Torres Jacket uses soft and quiet Nikwax Analogy® Insulator fabric with synthetic fill offering an excellent warmth to weight ratio. It is styled to overlayer with the Analogy waterproof system. The insulated hood and pockets extend the protection given.

So expect weather protection combined with fast warmth, which is easy to apply and still allows your directional clothing system to work.

How will my Páramo® Analogy Insulator outperform other insulation?

Páramo’s Torres Insulation is very practical. Unlike down fill, the synthetic insulator fill works just as well in the wet, can be compressed in a pack and washed in a washing machine. The excellent water-repellency can be renewed with Nikwax aftercare. The down-like feel and performance provides an excellent warmth to weight ratio, which packs down small but retains body heat very effectively for fast warmth whenever needed – without concern about getting it wet.

  1. Sized and styled for overlayering with the Nikwax Analogy® system without excessive bulk – perfect worn over the Andina, Mirada and Zefira.
  2. Insulated and fully adjustable fixed hood with single-hand pull adjuster. Can be stowed when not in use.
  3. Two large insulated zipped hand-warming pockets.
  4. Internal secure chest pocket.
  5. Full front opening with two-way zip, internal storm flap and chin guard.
  6. Adjustable hem to retain body heat with scooped tail to protect lower back.

What users say...

“The design is excellent, with large, zipped hip pockets and a longer body. This jacket delivers near-instant warmth, making it ideal to put on at rest stops or during static activities. 4/5”

Walk magazine, Winter 2016

“Getting very cold and wet a long way from home without any of my Páramo gear, I was now ruing my oversight. I had no hesitation in sourcing a local Páramo dealer and purchasing a long wanted Torres. The instant warmth & comfort was a godsend, and despite the cold wind-driven rain, I remained dry & warm all day. Two weeks on the hill with fellow instructor friends, wind & rain again - so out with my Torres & over my Velez, I was very smug, warm & dry, unlike my companions. Great kit, keep up the good work!”

D.L, Cumbria

“The Torres is a thick, warm jacket suitable for the coldest days. I’ve worn it while sitting around in wet snow and cold rain and it’s felt snug and comfortable. This works really well when you pause on a freezing windswept summit. The design is excellent.”

TGO magazine, Nov 2014

“Only this week I used the Torres to put on very quickly over one of my mountain guests on Point Five Gully on Ben Nevis as she was getting pasted by cold spindrift and the transformation to relative warmth and comfort was almost instant. Previous to the arrival of the Páramo ‘overlayering’ systems I had tended to strip down and put dry base layers on, but now that inconvenience can be avoided. The set-up is simple and effective.”

In what kind of weather conditions can I use my Torres Jacket?

Your Torres Jacket can be used throughout the year in cold or wet conditions when you need to keep warm. The dense microfibre outer and the synthetic fill can cope with high winds and driven rain and the insulation will not be damaged by getting it wet. It can be put on over any other kit when insulation is needed.

Which garments should I use with my Nikwax Analogy Insulator to get optimum performance?

Nikwax Insulator garments are sized to be put on quickly over your jacket, fleece or baselayer to provide rapid warming when you are stationary or in very cold conditions. They can equally be worm over a baselayer if required in less cold conditions. Worn over a Nikwax Analogy Waterproof they will not inhibit its directionality, so perspiration or condensation will continue to be moved away from you. They can also be worn over wet garments without any loss of performance.

Páramo clothing does not rely on hazardous PFC treatments for water repellency.
