Our highly-trained and dedicated staff develop and manufacture in-house, from our headquarters in the charming village of Wadhurst. Páramo Directional Clothing designs durable garments for outdoor people who want to stay comfortable in all weathers and environments. Also located in Wadhurst, our designers work with superior fabric systems and innovative designs to create garments that can be indefinitely renewed with Nikwax aftercare. Páramo has a partnership with the Miquelina Foundation in Bogotá, Colombia, where the garments are manufactured, all carrying the Fair Trade Label, by a skilled team of women, whom we have helped transition from exploitative situations and prostitution to find a better life for themselves.

The Role

To work on the IT Helpdesk providing 1st line support. Installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing and solving both hardware and software faults. To be an expert user in all company systems providing training and maintaining user guides as necessary by:

  • providing 1st line support on both hardware and software to users across all sites and countries
  • assisting in the training of staff in the use of day to day systems
  • being responsible for creating and updating program instructions and user guides, making available as required
  • being in charge of the accurate logging of Helpdesk tickets and solutions worked upon
  • helping with web and spam filtering content management
  • running the IT/Finance related month end procedures.

The Person will be:

  • a problem solver with good prioritisation skills
  • proactive and driven
  • conscientious with good interpersonal skills
  • numerate with an eye for detail
  • educated to an A level/college standard with an IT qualification.

The successful applicant will be based in our offices in Wadhurst but will work from home 2 days per week.

Join an ethical and award-winning outdoor clothing brand that is currently evolving into an employee owned company, as an Online Sales Coordinator (Fixed Term Maternity Cover)

Páramo Directional Clothing designs and distributes durable garments for outdoor people, using unique and superior fabric systems to keep them comfortable in extreme environments. The products are indefinitely renewable using Nikwax® aftercare and their innovative design allows the garments to be recycled at the end of their useable lifetime.

We develop our products in-house, from the headquarters in Wadhurst, East Sussex, with the garments manufactured at The Miquelina Foundation in Bogotá, Colombia. This partnership started in 1992 and has assisted over 10,000 vulnerable women to find a better life, away from prostitution or exploitative situations. With Páramo’s support, the factory has carried the World Fair Trade label since 2017.

We have an ongoing dedication to minimising our impact on the environment and a devoted group of people to help develop the business. Páramo is currently undergoing the exciting process of transitioning to Employee Ownership, which will protect and build upon our purpose and values, whilst securing a bright future for all employee owners.

The Role

To drive sales through, and operate the processes of, the Páramo controlled online sales channels by providing assistance and advice to customers, ensuring seasonally appropriate stock availability and improving presentation and communication of Páramo garments by:

  • coordinating sales through third party e-commerce channels and overseeing all day to day functions
  • being responsible for the Web Sales phone line and emails, providing advice and assistance to queries or handing over to an appropriate team/individual where necessary
  • coordinating available stock for third party e-commerce channels ensuring that it is seasonal, available for sale and of expected quality
  • assisting in providing support to Páramo direct customers, including; processing EU, international and BFPO mail orders
  • overseeing and continually improving the online customer experience by optimising channel activities or proposing and developing projects
  • assisting the Páramo Workshop with the processing of third party e-commerce refunds/exchanges.

The Person will be:

  • knowledgeable of online sales environments
  • analytical, motivated and organised with a high level of computer literacy
  • a team player.
  • experienced in using eBay as a seller
  • ideally educated to at least GCSE level (or equivalent), in both Maths and English.

This is a fixed term contract to provide maternity cover until the end of April 2022, however there may be the potential for this to become a permanent post depending on our trading position.
