Head of Marketing Central Europe

A great opportunity to develop an established outdoor brand in a new market.

Páramo is at a very exciting stage of growth and looking for an experienced and dynamic marketing professional to help us expand in the Central European market. This is a key position within our marketing team and you will be responsible for growing brand awareness, sales and ROI within the Central European markets by coordinating and localising all promotional activity within German-speaking territories.

The Role

Working within a marketing team of 15 people and reporting directly to the Director of Group Marketing and Brand Identity, you will set and implement the company’s marketing strategy in Central Europe.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Driving strategic planning and prioritising budgets for marketing the Páramo brand and product line within the Central European markets
  • Providing insight and information on the European marketplace to the central marketing team to inform strategic decision-making
  • Creating, sourcing and supporting creation of native language content appropriate to the Central European market for all print and digital media
  • Planning, managing and executing brand participation at local consumer and trade events (travel required).
  • Managing advertising, direct marketing and PR activities
  • Initiating and managing strategic partnerships with press, retailers, events, NGOs and industry influencers
  • Planning and coordinating local photoshoots
  • Keeping of German-language website content accurate and up-to-date
  • Occasional assistance with customer service.

You will either be based in Wadhurst, East Sussex, UK or in the Munich area of Germany with regular visits to the UK headquarters in Wadhurst. Your first month will be based in Wadhurst in order to ensure a smooth handover. This role involves regular travel, both regional and international.

The Ideal Candidate

With a proven track record in marketing, this is an exciting opportunity for a high-energy self-starter with a passion for the outdoors and environmental issues.

You will have:

  • A marketing or business-related degree
  • Native-level fluency in German and fluent English (Spanish or other languages are a plus)
  • Strong communicative and copywriting skills
  • Ability to work independently.

Retail Sales Manager

Páramo, the award winning technical outdoor clothing brand, require a Retail Sales Manager to lead our London store.

The Role

We are looking for someone to manage our Páramo brand store and drive store performance. You will provide clear and effective leadership including recruitment and supervision of Retail Sales Team members in line with company policies.

Key responsibilities will also include implementing store sales and marketing strategies and managing training with external suppliers. You will also investigate potential new sales avenues for the store and implement as agreed; and you will ensure that all relevant direct-to-consumer sales schemes and processes to support them are effectively operated and managed in store.

You will enjoy spending time with customers helping them choose the correct item by using your technical product knowledge; and sharing their love of the outdoors and everything Páramo related.

The Hours

This is a full time position where you will be working 5 days a week, as detailed in the staff rota. This will include working some weekends.

The Person

You will be a proactive, conscientious individual with an eye for detail, willing to learn about Páramo, Nikwax and other stocked products. You will probably have a passion for the outdoors that you will be able to convey to customers. You will have good outdoor market awareness and a strong personal drive to achieve.

You must have excellent people skills and be committed to providing a consistently high level of customer service. You must have excellent management skills; including those in motivation and co-ordination; and be able to delegate. In addition, you will have retail, sales and management experience as well as some IT skills.
